Music, has always been one of the driving inspirational forces behind the 10.Deep® brand. In the past we’ve worked with musicians and artists from different genres, and this fall, we will be relaunching our Soundcloud stream with music and features from the community around the brand.
In thinking about this relaunch, we decided we should start with the music projects from our past that we get asked about most, two projects that we released in the summer of 2008 — Wale’s “The Mixtape About Nothing” and Kid Cudi’s “A Kid Named Cudi.”
Released in May of 2008, “The Mixtape About Nothing” and the accompanying collaboration tee, were inspired by classic New York sitcom Seinfield and featured samples of audio and skits from the iconic show. A theme Wale would continue with “More About Nothing” in 2010, and “The Album About Nothing” in 2015.
Two months later, in July of 2008, we released our next project with Kid Cudi, “A Kid Named Cudi” Produced by Plain Pat & Emile. Like with the Wale release, there was also a very limited edition collaboration tee
released with the mixtape. A Kid Named Cudi featured a broad range of sound and diverse samples ranging form Band of Horses to Paul Simon. The tape marked a new sound that influenced the likes of Kanye, Travis Scott, and a whole generation of musicians.
Nearing the 10 year anniversary of the projects, we decided that we should give them an official home to fit today’s musical landscape. Both projects are now up to stream on 10.Deep®’s Soundcloud.
Due to a few copyright issues, some tracks weren’t able to be posted in their entirety, however you can download both projects below:
